Dejà Vu Land

So, here we go again with oil spills and ecological disasters!

Just like Rachel Maddow says, we are currently living on a "dejà vu land". It seems that no one even remember nor talk about the past experiences on the oil spill that happened on 1979 on the Gulf of Mexico and that lasted 9 months, yes 9 MONTHS!!!, to be contained. Just for the record, the mexican oil spill from 1979 started from an explosion on the Ixtoc's oil well located on the mexican state of Campeche and around 3,3million barrels were disposed into the gulf of Mexico and even reached the coast of texas. Here a bit more info about Ixtoc (in spanish).

I have little to say since Mrs. Maddow just compares very good the current and past disasters, so please take a look at this video:

The point here is about the great investments on technological run and new technologies that do not consider or leave aside the investment for "in case of failure" or "crisis" besides that big oil companies seems not to learn from their mistakes.

What a pitty with this new oil spill...No comments.

BTW...thanx Chris for showing us the video.
